Born in Tokyo

1958
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (Oil-Painting Department)

1962
Carried out happenings on the Yamanote train line with Jiro Takamatsu

1963
Found Hi Red Center with Jiro Takamatsu and Genpei Akasegawa

1965
Started Collaborating with Budo dancers, Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ono

1969
Involved in the establishment of Bigakko Art School

1986
His works were exhibited in “Japon des avant gardes 1910-1970”, Pompidou Centre (Paris)

1996
Became professor of Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Paintings (-2003)

2004
Became professor of Kurashiki University of science and the Arts (-2007)

2012
His works were exhibited in “Tokyo 1955-1970 A New Avant-Garde”, MOMA
